Do you want to help foster community cooperation?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, an internship at Bennett’s Books might be for you. For interns we work to match the specific interests and skills of the intern to available projects. We are also looking for people that are interested and have skills in photography and videography, web development and coding, research, carpentry, marketing, social media, and customer service. We have a variety of projects that need attention but we also encourage interns to develop their own projects.

Promotion and Marketing

Help maintain our Facebook page, Twitter account, Pinterest profile, and Instagram

Perform website maintenance and updates as capable

Help develop and distribute promotional materials (including videos)

Build relationships and form

partnerships with suitable

businesses

Community Service

Research organizations and groups that the bookstore can support

 

Liaise with appropriate community organizations and groups  

 

Create and help to host appropriate

community-focused events

Day-To-Day

Price, organize, and sell books

 

Maintain a pleasant and appealing in-store atmosphere

 

Write regular blog posts for the bookstore

 

Help take of bookstore pets and outside animals

Desired Skills

We work to match the specific interests and skills of the student to available projects but we are also looking for people that are interested in and have skills in photography and videography, web development and coding, research, carpentry, marketing, social media, and customer service.

Expectations and Details

We are looking for people that exhibit reliability, initiative, and commitment. Enthusiasm, strong verbal and written skills, attention to detail, and an ability to learn quickly and complete a task are also important. A minimum of 2 hours a week is expected. Some of the work can be done independently although most of the required hours will be completed at the store.
